Daniel Lucero, better known as DJ NerVouS, was born in El Paso, TX and raised in Alamogordo, NM and is currently living in Las Cruces NM. Fascinated by the night scene, the DJ and the music, he made an effort to explore and learn more. Soon after, he received his first set of decks and started spinning electronic music. DJ NerVous has frequently performed at the Las Cruces Salsa Fest and Alamogordo Toy Drive.
With the help of a couple friends he started the learning process. DJ Aciq, out of Alamogordo, taught him the electronic aspect of being a DJ. While Digumsmak introduced him to turntablists, hip hop and the top 40 music scene.
DJ NerVouS went on to partner with Digumsmak to form the “The 2 Deejay’s dat Sk8” a DJ crew ( More like a brother hood) in 2005. The crew is dedicated to people understanding the culture, art and fundamentals of being a DJ. For example, DJ Nervous still carries the tradition of taking records to his events. Although he keeps a lot traditional, he brought the new talent of video mixing to the Southwest. He introduced a new element of adding visuals to music “SEE THE MUSIC.” He has inspired many other DJ’s in the region to bring video mixing into their shows as well. One of his many achievements was when he joined the Bum Squad DJ Crew in 2011.”It is an honor to be apart of a crew that DJ Marc X is in, I can remember stopping what ever I was doing just to tune in and listen to Marc X spin on the radio.” Bum Squad (now known as THE MIX SYNDICATE) is a world famous DJ crew that helped boost his career in the music industry.
